V.I.O. POV.1 digital video recorder

Do I need a recording device?

Yes, V.I.O.'s Adventure Cams work in conjunction with any video recording device with an analog input, such as a camcorder DVR, a VCR, or a recording deck. You must own a recording device or be willing to purchase one to capture your action from our analog cams. Most of our customers use a Mini DV camcorder. Some of our customers use a personal video recorder, or a mini hard drive recorder to record their footage. It is also important to remember that your camcorder must be in VCR mode (play/edit) in order to record the image from the helmet cam.

Is my recording device compatible?

You can use our Adventure Cams & S.C.O.U.T. Cam with any device that has A/V input (analog) capabilities. Most owners' manuals will list this information under the Specifications section. If you can record from an outside source (e.g. your TV or VCR) to your camcorder, then you will be able to use our Adventure Cams. If you are unsure, you can contact the dealer where you bought your camcorder or consult your owners' manual. Most manuals are available online, or better yet, check out our online compatibility list.
