“TransAlpin Bike 2011 MTB competition. All shot with V.I.O. POV.HD, frame mount. The Transalpina or DN67C located in the Parâng Mountains group, in the Southern Carpathians of Romania, is one of the most spectacular roads of the Carpathian Mountains. It connects Novaci, south of Parâng Mountains, to Sebeş in the north.”
“It is said that the road was built under King Carol II and rebuilt during World War II by German troops and it is called The King’s Road by the locals. Also a story has it that Nicolae Ceauşescu had the Transfăgărăşan Road (DN7C) built during the communist regime just to surpass the Transalpina.”
“The road has its highest point at Urdele Pass, where the elevation is 2,145m above sea level. Given the high altitude, the road is closed during the cold months of the year. Works began in 2007 in order to transform this spectacular road into a modern highway (148 km), allowing a rapid transit between Oltenia and Transylvania.” - Video by SpeleoFranz

“What’s more fun than riding a 40-year-old cruiser bike 7 miles down a dirt-packed mountain pass? Hard sayin’; the annual Chainless World Championships Race in Crested Butte, CO is my favorite local event. This year, some rear hub dysfunction made for a hefty head-on crash. Fortunately I was sporting a V.I.O. POV.HD helmet cam (and helmet!) to capture the carnage in high definition. Let’s just say this ‘fail’ sent me to the chiropractor. Twice.” - MH
“First test of my POV HD on the Feldberg mountain near Frankfurt, Germany (still getting snow in March!). The video taken used the settings 720p @ 30fps in PAL and “high” picture quality mode. All other settings were defaults…. I think the picture is great, colours are very vivid and the brightness in dark areas such as going through woodland is much better than the old non-HD unit. There is no tearing or bending of the picture and no fish bowl effect despite the wide angle lens.” - Frank Rizzo
Gorgeous afternoon bike ride with Clint Slack and Ryan Anthony of V.I.O. and Frederick Reimers and his brother-in-law Bart, on the Phillips Ridge Trail, Teton Pass, WY. - TetonExperience
